It’s a long drive to and from work. Well, probably not the longest as far as time and mileage go. But to me (and this story is about me, after all), it can sometimes crawl by if I focus on too many of the familiar roadside details. When I pass by the smokestack I’m only about a third of the way there; if I pass under the underpass that looks like a space ramp, I still have another 25 solid minutes.
